Elementary-school students in the Azusa Unified School District in California are learning addition, fractions, decimals and other math concepts via the district's ST Math curriculum. As part of the program, students practice math skills by helping a virtual penguin maneuver obstacles and solve mathematical puzzles and equations. "What we noticed is, the kids are moving at their own pace, and it's a way of differentiating their learning," elementary-school principal Robert Allard said.
