Real estate brokerage CBRE Group has "untethered" the 200 workers in its Los Angeles headquarters, requiring everyone, including CEO Robert Sulentic, to find a new desk each day. Without assigned workspaces, the company expects to save about 30% on rental payments and office supplies. "I thought the place would feel impersonal," says executive Mark Sprague. "It's almost more personal, in a different way. It really does have a sense of community."
