The Middle East has enormous potential for technological innovation despite conflict and instability, but that doesn't mean Western firms can simply breeze in and ship the best and brightest young entrepreneurs back to Silicon Valley, says tech executive Christopher M. Schroeder. Plenty of smart entrepreneurs would prefer to stay where they are and have the technology to do so, Schroeder says, raising the big question for business: "How are you thinking about a world of 5 billion smartphones?"
