Janet Yellen is expected to win confirmation as head of the Federal Reserve, as she has unified support from Democrats and would need only six Republicans to back her. Tim Pawlenty, president and CEO of the Financial Services Roundtable, says President Barack Obama's nomination of Yellen signals a desire for continuity. Pawlenty said Yellen is "a talented economist who will bring a wealth of experience to the job." Analysts say Yellen would take a more direct role in banking regulation than her predecessor because of her experience at the San Francisco Fed.
