The Los Angeles' Department of Water and Power is undertaking a $230 million drinking-water-system replacement project at the Headworks reservoir in California. A trapezoidal reservoir is being built, which will have 500-foot walls made from reinforced concrete. The first segment of the twin-phased project is expected to be completed by November 2014, a deadline mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
