Concrete placement for the 40 9-foot-diameter caissons that will support the foundations of the St. Croix River bridge between Wisconsin and Minnesota is done, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Concrete filling of 40% of the $675 million bridge's footings and columns is also complete. All foundation work is projected to be finished by early 2014, MnDOT disclosed.
