Mercom Capital Group announced that venture capitalists pumped $956 million into the health IT industry in the third quarter of the year, increasing the total year-to-date VC funding to $3.6 billion. DXY, a Web-based care community for providers and medical institutions in China, received the biggest VC funding deal amounting to $70 million. During the quarter, investors completed 82 deals with mobile health companies, 24 with personal health firms, 16 with telemedicine companies and three with social health firms.
Administradora Sendero, a Mexican retail REIT, is delaying its initial public offering because of poor market conditions. The REIT, called Fibra Sendero, had planned to sell shares Thursday in the hopes of raising $405 million.
CIMB, Overseas-Chinese Banking and Standard Chartered are managing OUE Commercial REIT's $482.4 million initial public offering, according to sources. Other banks likely will join the group. The IPO, which is expected to occur early next year, may change in size if more assets are added.
Malaysia's Sunway Real Estate Investment Trust has been given approval by the Securities Commission to establish a $956 million medium-term note program. The proceeds will be used for acquisitions and to refinance existing debt.
New Jersey regulators recently approved spending $956 million on utility infrastructure projects that will create 1,300 jobs in the state. The funds will allow New Jersey Natural Gas to replace or install gas mains in several towns. Projects proposed by Atlantic City Electric and Public Service Electric & Gas will also receive funding.
