CNN, in its first year under Jeff Zucker's leadership, has done well in developing new audiences for reality programming and documentaries but has struggled to attract regular viewers for its day-to-day offerings. "It's a new world," said Tom Rosenstiel, executive director of the American Press Institute. "And it's not a new world because of Fox News. It's a new world because of the Internet and social media. You can't just do what you tried to do, only better. You actually have to recognize that you've been digitally disrupted."
