Apple on Tuesday followed other major tech companies including Microsoft, Google and Facebook in releasing details on the number of information requests it has received from government entities. The U.S. requested information on between 2,000 and 3,000 accounts, and Apple says it provided data on between zero and 1,000 of them. Apple also registered objections to rules that require companies to report the numbers in increments of 1,000 and to lump together national security and law enforcement requests.
