Best Buy announced plans to cut prices heading into the holidays, a competitive move that the retailer warned might cut into fourth-quarter profit margins. The move follows an announcement from Wal-Mart that it will match some Black Friday prices at Best Buy, Target and Toys R Us starting as early as this week. "If our competition is in fact more promotional in the fourth quarter, we will be too," Best Buy Chief Financial Officer Sharon McCollam said.
