Guest comforts and better customer service are now the hallmarks of boutique hotels, according to industry insiders at this year's Lodging Conference in Phoenix.
"Guest expectations of boutique hotels have continued to rise, while travelers have grown more sophisticated generally," said Frances Kiradjian, chair of the Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association. John Keeling, executive vice president of the Valencia Group, said boutique hotels are not as much about attracting young travelers as they are about attracting travelers of all ages, including baby boomers.
