Nearly one-fifth of all non-food purchases made by UK residents last month happened online, including more than 30% of all footwear purchases, according to the British Retail Consortium. Online holiday shopping in Britain is forecast to grow 15% this year, to a record £10.8 billion. "It's expected many of us will 'click into Christmas' more than ever before this year and retailers have invested significantly in user friendly websites, fast deliveries and convenient ways of buying in-store," said director general Helen Dickinson.
