The Centre for Sustainable Development in Montreal, Canada, a project of 2002 Equiterre, has attained LEED Platinum certification. The structure was built using Portland cement, which contains 10% to 20% fly ash, and "two experimental concrete slabs [fitted with monitoring equipment] made in part with powdered glass from recycled bottles." Among the building's other sustainable features are thermal bridges, triple-pane windows with double-layered low-emissivity coating, geothermal wells and a living wall.
