CDC researchers publishing in Pediatrics showed that 11% of the 1.2 million low-income American children studied were obese, with boys showing greater obesity odds than girls. Researchers also found that Hispanic and Native American children had a 35% and 49% higher obesity risk than non-Hispanic whites, respectively, while non-Hispanic African-Americans were 8% less likely than non-Hispanic whites to be obese.
