Chevron seeks to export its technologies that help conserve water and reduce the environmental footprint of its operations, a company executive said. About 1 million gallons of water can be stored in Chevron's large-scale bolted tanks, and they can also be hauled immediately between hydraulic fracturing sites. The industry for decades has used large pits to store water at drilling sites, but the tanks help curb by 50% the footprint of each site, said Mike Koch, general manager of strategy development at Chevron.
