Freshmen at a school in Colorado received first-hand access to the tools used by University of Colorado engineering students through a partnership between the university and nearby school districts. Students used computers and 3D-modeling equipment to design and build acrylic towers, which were then tested for their strength. "We want to get the kids up to CU to show them what's going on and get them excited about engineering," said engineering teacher Nick Cady.
