Roy Berendsohn was eager to test the differences between gas and electric chainsaws, so he compared the MSA 200 C-BQ battery-powered chainsaw and the MS 150 C-E gas-powered model, both from Stihl. Berendsohn found that for jobs around a property, school or recreational area, "there's simply no substitute for a quiet cordless electric saw." However, larger jobs in the woods, or jobs with a lot of preparatory cutting that could easily drain a battery, are better suited for a gas-powered saw.
