Ethanol stakeholders in Illinois are awaiting the release of the 2014 biofuel blending requirements. Illinois was the third-biggest ethanol producing state in 2011, just behind Iowa and Nebraska, according to Energy Information Administration figures. While E10 and E85 are commonly sold in the state, E15 sales are sluggish, partly because of summer-blend restrictions that the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, in tandem with the Environmental Protection Agency, is working to address, said T.J. Page, IRFA's communications director.
