Celine Gauer, director of the European Commission's antitrust unit for energy, says Platts' reporting system for oil prices "could be prone to collusion or distortion because it doesn't take much to basically have strange reporting" by participating firms. Gauer also says it might take a year or more to go through documents that have been seized in an oil-price inquiry.
