Spending at least 27 hours each week involved in physical activity was associated with a 44% lower chance of suffering from Crohn's disease in women, an analysis showed. However, researchers found no evidence that higher physical activity reduced the risk of ulcerative colitis. The findings, based on data from the Nurses' Health Study and the Nurses' Health Study II, were published in the British Medical Journal.
