A year ahead of schedule, Ferrero said its use of 150,000 metric tons of palm oil will be 100% traceable, segregated and RSPO-certified by the end of 2014. Unilever announced its goal of only using fully traceable palm oil by the end of next year, a move towards sourcing only certified sustainable and traceable palm oil by 2020; the company purchases about 3% of the world's palm oil. "Taken together, today's announcements by consumer products giants Unilever and Ferrero show an industry in transformation," said Glenn Hurowitz, executive director for Catapult.
