Illinois-based Golden West Power Partners seeks approval from the El Paso County, Colo., commission to build a wind farm between Calhan and Ramah. The company's $400 million wind farm project will have 147 turbines and is expected to begin construction in the second quarter of 2014. "Public acceptance of the project has been excellent. We have not run into much opposition, and everyone has been supportive," said Matthew Cumberworth Sr., director of wind energy services at Golden West.
