By 2023, smartphones and tablets will become the primary vehicle to access the Internet, smartphones are expected to replace credit cards and a tiny camera placed inside a capsule may transmit pictures from within the human body via smartphones. Those are just some of the radical transformations that wireless devices will bring to our world, according to op-ed columnist Charles Townsend. But there's a catch: The Federal Communications Commission will need to find 250 MHz in additional wireless spectrum beyond the amount already set aside in order to fulfill that vision, Townsend warns.
