Attendance at the Indianapolis Air Show held in central Indiana drew up more than 80,000 spectators in 2012, but without a headline jet team last year, attendance dropped. The 2013 show was canceled and its three-person staff was laid off because federal budget cuts prevented a performance by the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels, making planning for next year's show impossible. "It's unfortunate; I'm disappointed, but sometimes something may rest for a while and then get re-energized, and that may happen here," said Robert Duncan, chairman of the airshow's executive committee.
