Indiana's Secretary of State Connie Lawson recently stopped by a personal-finance class at Pendleton Heights High School to speak to 30 students about budgets, credit card debt, maintaining a good credit rating and other financial topics. The high school is among about two dozen that Lawson has visited to discuss financial literacy. Lawson said the lessons help because "forming good financial habits now will help them in the future to have a safe and secure retirement."
