MUJI stocks its stores in Japan with a slew of merchandise and even operates cafes and campgrounds, but the retail giant is starting smaller with its first store in Australia. The Melbourne location launched with a selection of clothing, homewares, drinks and stationery, with an eye on adding new categories including electronics and food later, said manager Antony Arnaz. The retailer, known for affordable, eco-friendly basics, operates 610 stores in 25 countries.
