Developing healthy eating habits and an interest in growing and cooking local foods kept Louisville, Ky., students in the Food Literacy Project's Youth Community Agriculture Program busy this summer. The students, from underprivileged areas, worked on a farm and learned how to grow produce, try new foods and sell their crops to retailers. "These young people can become a new generation of leaders in food justice," Food Literacy Project Director Carol Gundersen said.
