A study in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology revealed type 2 diabetes patients who were less active had a 70% to 110% greater risk of coronary and cardiovascular disease and mortality compared with those who exercised for at least three times a week. Researchers also found patients in the low-activity group were 25% more likely than their more active counterparts to suffer coronary and cardiovascular events.
