Lindt, which sources all its West African cocoa from Ghana, expanded its sustainability program in the country to reaching more than 45,000 farmers by 2016. The initiative, which has already reached 23,000 farmers, calls for all farming districts in Ghana to have a Village Resource Center as well as farm mapping, a professionalization training program, improved planting materials and access to credit. The company has invested $15 million in premium payments to farmers to improve infrastructure.
