A handful of nuts a day could help people live longer, according to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The study looked at about 118,000 people, noting that those who ate at least an ounce of nuts every day were 20% less likely to die over a 30-year period than those who didn't eat nuts. When researchers broke down specific causes of death, they found that those who ate nuts were 29% less likely to die from heart disease, 24% from respiratory illness and 11% from cancer.
