A major revision to the Renewable Fuel Standard would have an adverse effect on farmland values, Bruce Sherrick, director of the TIAA-CREF Center for Farmland Research, said at a farmland markets summit in Illinois. Economist Scott Irwin added that everyone "associated with biofuels and green markets will be losers to some degree" if the government makes drastic cuts to the blending requirements.
