The robust output from Marcellus Shale has driven Northeast gas prices down, has increased pipeline flows out of the region and is expected to surpass the natural gas production of Saudi Arabia. "The amount of production coming out of the Marcellus is a world-scale development," said Robert Ineson, senior director at IHS. "It's grown with astonishing speed in just a few years and it's transforming the market."
