More than 2,400 solar panels have been installed on the roofs of three buildings at the Hoosic Valley Central School District in New York. The $2.6 million solar energy system was leased by New York Light Energy to the school district. The Kyocera panels used for the system have the capacity of a 600,000-watt generator, and the solar array is expected to deliver 688,000 kilowatts of electricity a year and save about $20,000 in energy costs, according to New York Light Energy.
