Latin America has lagged behind more developed regions when it comes to embracing online shopping, but a younger population, rising wealth and the rapid growth of mobile technology have spurred faster e-commerce growth. Online retail sales in Latin America grew an average of 20% annually between 2007 and 2012, more than double the growth rate in North America and second only to the Asia-Pacific region, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
