H&M, Victoria's Secret and Target are among the new retailers that have opened in Canada's capital city in the past year, and others including J.Crew, Simons, Nordstrom, Whole Foods and Sporting Life are slated to follow in the coming months and years. The revitalization is fueled by demand from Ottawa's consumers, says Bayshore Shopping Centre president Dennis Pelletier. "H&M was a good example of demand. They'd been asking for it. In fact there was a website dedicated to coming to Ottawa — it had 3,000 members — which I'd never seen in retail," he said.
