Boosting network security, improving disaster recovery and advancing BYOD remain top priorities for IT leaders, but you may not know that from looking at their companies' tech budgets, which, according to a new study, often are the product of a separate set of goals. A poll from the Society for Information Management found a disconnect between IT leaders and their counterparts in the business office that can funnel resources away from priorities deemed vital by tech leaders. "They want to optimize IT but also want to help optimize the business, and sometimes those things are in conflict," explained SIM researcher Leon Kappelman.
