Retailers are donating millions of dollars to aid the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Wal-Mart has pledged $1 million, and Yum Brands donated $1.5 million to the relief effort. Meanwhile, retail landlords such as Simon Property Group, General Growth Properties and Macerich have also set up Red Cross stations at several shopping centers across the U.S. "We know that the [Red Cross] is assessing their overall needs, but cash is number one right now," said Karen Maurer, a Macerich spokeswoman.
