A study of about 250 severely obese teens who underwent various types of weight-loss surgery found that none of the patients died during their initial hospital stay or within a month of the procedure. Researchers also found that major complications occurred in only 8% of patients, while minor complications were seen in 15%. The findings were published on the website of JAMA Pediatrics.
