Teenagers who eat large amounts of chocolate have lower levels of total body fat, as well as abdominal fat, according to a study in Nutrition. While the research does not indicate what type of chocolate the teens consumed, chocolate has "important antioxidant, antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory and antihypertensive effects and can help prevent ischemic heart disease," study researcher Magdalena Cuenca-García said.
