A University of California, Los Angeles, study appears to support previous findings that five grams of supplementary fish oil daily in conjunction with a low-fat diet slow the growth of cancer cells in men with prostate cancer. The new study, published in the journal Cancer Prevention Research, determined that men who followed the low-fat diet and used fish oil supplements had lower amounts of pro-inflammatory substances in their blood as well as a lower cell-cycle progression score, which is correlated with prostate cancer aggression and recurrence.
