Phil Lempert, the "Supermarket Guru," teamed up with ConAgra to survey 110,000 consumers to find the top trends for 2014, and the top three involve mobile devices, the millennial generation and women shoppers. Mobile devices are more important than ever for consumers while shopping, but QR codes aren't the answer for retailers, Lempert said. Millennials, who are passionate about food, want to interact with companies through social media. IndieWomen, women 27 and older who are single without children, love bargains but have strong brand affiliations.
