The growth in U.S. shale production will lead to further use of cleaner-burning fuels, said Carol Browner, former head of the Environmental Protection Agency. The Energy Information Administration expects U.S. natural gas production to increase from last year's 69.18 billion cubic feet a day to 70.29 billion this year. "Right now there are a lot of reasons" to turn to natural gas coming from shale, Browner said.
