It's natural to be wary of confrontation, but it's sometimes necessary to put yourself in uncomfortable situations if you want to succeed, writes Kathy Caprino, who leads a consulting firm. The next time you're forced to have a difficult conversation, make sure you're prepared by trying to see the world from the other person's point of view, Caprino writes. She also recommends having the conversation in a private place and stating the problem without bringing your emotions into it.
