Men and women with mild heart disease have about the same short-term risk of heart attack and death, and those without coronary artery plaque build-up also have similar chances of avoiding serious heart problems, Canadian researchers reported at a Radiological Society of North America meeting. Dr. Gregg Fonarow of the American Heart Association said that the study suggested men and women with mild heart disease should get medical treatment and adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors.
