The Ohio-based summer youth camp sponsored each year by the Amputee Coalition provides an opportunity for young people 10 to 17 to share their experiences and bond with others who are also missing limbs. "It's a safe environment where they can come, and the parents aren't there," said Laura Freeman, a prosthetic resident at Scheck and Siress in Oak Park, Ill. "So, they can try new things, and they can make new friends, and it's just amazing."
