Taking insulin sensitizers was associated with a lower risk of developing cancer in women with type 2 diabetes compared with other types of medications, according to an analysis involving more than 25,600 patients. Insulin secretagogues, on the other hand, were tied to higher cancer odds. Researchers failed to find a similar link in men. The study appeared in the journal Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism.
