Demand for dental care in Colorado is likely to increase next year after the state expanded Medicaid dental coverage for adults and more children gain coverage under the Affordable Care Act. About 1,000 of the state's 3,600 dentists are listed as Medicaid providers, and nine counties have no practicing dentists. To help ease the shortage, the Colorado Dental Association has launched a campaign encouraging each dentist to accept at least five patients covered by Medicaid in the coming year.
