Pittsburgh held its first "Accessibility Meetup" last week and more than 50 people, including professionals in robotics and design, attended to plan ways to make the city more accessible to people with disabilities. The next day at the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science's "How can we make our world accessible?" talk, IBM Japan researcher Chieko Asakawa outlined new technologies to increase access for people who are visually impaired.
