The U.S. federal agency in charge of overseeing national elections has failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures, despite being the target of repeated network intrusions, a newly released internal report said. The assessment, from the Inspector General of the Federal Election Commission, found that the agency has been out of compliance with presidential guidelines and that the FEC's "[r]efusal to adopt government-wide IT controls increased risks of intrusions."
