Only a small percentage of students who took some of the 16 massive open online courses offered through the University of Pennsylvania completed their courses, according to preliminary results of a new study on the program. The study found that completion rates from June 2012 to June 2013 varied according to a number of factors. The data showed, among other things, that courses with lighter workloads and fewer assignments had slightly higher completion rates than those that required more work.
